Mazagon Dock Limited, a Government of India undertaking has
invited applications from eligible candidates for the posts of Pipe Fitters,
Fire Fighters and Engine Driver 2nd Class for appointment on Contract Basis for
a maximum period of two years. Job details are as follows:

Required Qualification & Experience :
For Engine Driver 2nd Class : Certificate of
competency (Engine Driver 2nd Class) With Minimum 2 years experience as Engine
Driver. Knowledge of Swimming is compulsory
For Pipe Fitter : SSC passed and NAC passed in the trade of Pipe
Fitter OR in the trade of Plumber with having one year
experience in MDL/Ship-building industry.
For Fire Fighter : Candidates must have
passed SSC with Diploma/Certificate in Fire Fighting. Candidates must
possess a valid Heavy Duty Vehicle Licence.
Work experience in the relevant trade/function in a Shipbuilding industry
for minimum one year duly certified by their Personnel Department is desirable.
Age Limit Criteria : The age limit of the applicants should be between 18-33
years in case of Pipe Fitter and Fire Fighter and 18-45 years in case
of Engine Driver 2nd Class as on 01.11.2013.
Age relaxation will be given to various categories will be
as follows :
(i) SC and ST – 5 years.
(ii) OBC – 3 years.
(iii) Relaxation to persons with disability is 10 years for General candidates,15 years for SC/ST and 13 years for OBC as per Govt. rules.

Pay and Allowances :
a. Skilled Gr-I (IDA-5)category will get basic pay of
Rs.7500/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale in the first year and Rs.7575/- in the
second year.
b. Skilled Grade-II (IDA-6) category will get basic pay of Rs.8000/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale in the first year and Rs.8080/- in the second year.
c. Semi Skilled Gr-I(IDA-2) category will get basic pay of Rs.6000/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale in the first year and Rs.6060/- in the second year.
b. Skilled Grade-II (IDA-6) category will get basic pay of Rs.8000/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale in the first year and Rs.8080/- in the second year.
c. Semi Skilled Gr-I(IDA-2) category will get basic pay of Rs.6000/- per month in the IDA Pay Scale in the first year and Rs.6060/- in the second year.
